Crawley Wheelers Club Ride around the ISLE OF WIGHT
Its time for the last of the Crawley Wheelers Summer official Cycle away days.
Who is keen for a cycle on the beautiful roads of the Isle of Wight?
The route this year takes in some new roads and some old favourites. There will be two new coffee/lunch stops.
The Route is 65 miles, but under 4000 foot of climbing.
We will meet at the Portsmouth Terminal Car Park, immediately opposite the ferry terminal and ticket office. (Address - Gunwharf Rd, Portsmouth PO1 2LA)
We will all get the 9.20 ferry. This will allow enough time for those wishing to cycle down, rather than driving.
We will all go on the Ferry as Foot Passengers with bikes. Return ticket is £21.80. Can be booked in advance or purchased on the day.
Parking is £11.60 for the day. Pay at machine on parking.
There will be two refreshment stops.
The first one will be after 24 miles in Godshill, at the Old World Tea Room.
The second stop will be at 45 miles at Shalcombe, at the Chessell Pottery café.
The route takes in the Cowes Floating Bridge, right near the end. This is a charge of £1 per person.
